Monday, January 29, 2007 ::: MIND-LESS! Isn't the mind a funny thing? One second it's affected so easily by what others tell it to think But the next it just acts its own way again and no others can tell it what to think - not even yourself Note to mind: 1. You think way too much. Cut down on the thinking, dude! 2. Stop being such a negative drag. Urgh, the drag! I hate it! HAVE YOU CONFESSED? OWN.THIS. Because this is perhaps the greatest pop concert ever produced in history, so far. Excellent setlist, lightings and staging. Madonna is still full of energy. Choreography is awesome. Her costumes are quite tastefully designed. It's a pop concert with a bit of theater and circus. Moments when you just want to get up and dance, and also bits that give you something to think about - which is something that she's been trying to do lately and I think it actually works. I don't think her 'infamous' performance on the crucifix for Live To Tell is a cheap blasphemous trick at all. She's actually telling you to love your brothers and that part ended with a quote from the Bible. Not saying everything she does is agreeable, but this time I think she's right by saying don't judge that part without seeing the show. A lot of highlights for me: 1. Get Together. Need to say more? It's been my favorite song off the Confessions CD since its release in 2005 and it is still one of my favorite songs of the moment. 2. Like a Virgin. Never knew this song could be re-invented like this. Genius. It sounds a bit like Holiday now, which is great. 3. Drowned World/Substitute For Love. This song just sounds great because it has a really nice and simple melody that sounds really genuine. 4. Erotica/You Thrill Me - what can I say, I literally screamed when this song came on. This mix is so awesome, and so is the choreography! Ok, while I don't understand why: 1. Holiday is missing from the setlist!!!!!!!!!!!!!???!?!!!!!? Otherwise I should have no complaints really. But perhaps I'd like to see her perform some of her older hits like Vogue, Deeper and Deeper, Frozen and Like A Prayer other than... Paradise (Not For Me)? Or Lucky Star? These are not bad at all though. And perhaps drop the Madonna-playing-rock-chic section because although I know she loves to show her musicianship, I think that's always the least interesting part of the shows.
